How Survivorman can teach you lessons to help your business

I just read a great article over at J. Timothy King’s Blog
entitled 7 Entrepreneurial Secrets of Survivorman. In it he describes the similarities between being a survivalist and an entrepreneur.

I happen to be a huge fan of Survivorman, and if you haven’t seen it yet I suggest you check it out one night. Les Stroud a.ka. Survivorman is dropped off in the middle of nowhere in various places around the globe left to not only survive with little to no equipment, he also films the ordeal himself, carrying around and setting up camera gear to document the experience. It’s a great show that is not only entertaining and inspiring, it can also teach you some basic survival methods and as Tim King points out, these lessons sometimes parallel some helpful methods for entrepreneurs.

What are some of these key lessons? You’ll have to go to the original source for the in depth analysis, but some of these center around preparation, diversifying your efforts, conservation of resources, and having the ability to break away from relying on traditional methods to achieve results. The article is a great read for any entrepreneur, but an even better read for an entrepreneur that happens to be a fan of the show! :)
